| Forum Guidelines |
NASBE's Forum Rules NASBE Forum Rules include the following:
- NO TOLERANCE RULE - Members will not post or transmit any messages that would constitute or encourage conduct that would constitute a criminal offense, give rise to civil liability or otherwise violate any local, state, national or international law, including any threatening, abusive libelous, defamatory, obscene, vulgar, pornographic, profane or indecent messages of any kind. Any violation of this will lead to permanent banning from the NASBE forum.
- Members should post in a way that is respectful of other users. Abusing users in any way will not be tolerated and will lead to a warning and possible panning. You may not keep any other person from using and enjoying the NASBE Forum.
- Members are asked to respect the copyright of other users, sites, media, etc. Users linking to or asking for information on warez (stolen programs), crackz (cracking security codes), etc. or re-printing material without permission will receive a warning and their post will be removed.
- Members are not allowed to post or transmit any information, software or other materials which violate or infringe upon the rights of others, including their privacy or publicity rights, or that is protected by copyright, trademark or other proprietary rights, without first obtaining permission from the person who owns or holds that right.
- Members are not allowed to post or transmit any information, software or other material that contains a virus, or other material of a destructive nature.
- Members should post in a way that is consistent with "normal writing." Users should not post excessive numbers of emoticons, large, small or colored text, etc. Similarly, users should not use excessive capitalization (which denotes shouting and creates readability issues) or punctuation (e.g.! and ?) in topic titles or posts.
- Spam is not tolerated here under any circumstances. This includes offering hosting services (charged and free), installation services, solicitation, etc.. Recruiting of any sort (moderators, designers, professional MOD work, etc.), be it for paid or unpaid jobs, is not permitted. Users posting spam will be warned and their post removed.
- The administrator, moderator, support, and other teams reserve the right to edit or remove any post at any time. The determination of what is construed as indecent, vulgar, spam, etc. as noted in these points is up to NASBE and not the users.
NOTE: The above forum rules where applicable also apply to private messaging. Abuse of the private messaging system may lead to warnings (as above) and/or the revocation of private messaging.

NASBE's Forum Etiquette The following is a list of some of the more common rules associated with Forum etiquette or "netiquette."
- Golden Rule I: Think before you post. If what you intend to post will not make a positive contribution to the group and be of interest to several readers, do not post it. Also, stay on topic.
- Golden Rule II: Always be respectful to other users.
- Always re-read and edit your comments before you post. Follow standard grammar/spelling rules and try not to use slang. Check the spelling, grammar, and capitalization. Remember: your future employer may be reading.
- Note: typing in all capital letters usually denotes screaming or yelling.
- Read any rules and guidelines established by the community. Some may have different regulations on a particular subject.
- Personal messages to one or two individuals should not be posted. If you need to send a personalized comment or response, please use private e-mail.
- If you are quoting material, place the quote first with your response second. Posts should read like a conversation, with quotes indented to aid in skimming. Be sure to trim all irrelevant text.
- Before creating a new topic post, search to see if a similar topic already exists.
- If the forum is categorized, post in the correct section. In addition, do not post test messages except in their appropriate groups. Also, avoid double posting and Cross-posting (the act of posting the same message to multiple forums and subtopics).
- Before asking a question, read the messages already in the forum and read the forum’s FAQ.
- When submitting a technical inquiry to your administrator, please include as much information as possible.
Use descriptive titles when posting a new topic.
- Examples of Bad Titles: "School," "Bad Meeting," "Need Data"
- Examples of Good Titles: "Request for Info on School Nutrition Policies," "Seeking Advice on Negative Meeting Experience," "Searching for Research on Student Leadership"
- Do not post just to post. Make sure you have something to contribute or add to the conversation.
- If you believe someone has violated netiquette, send the board Administrator or Moderator a message describing the post and reference the post’s URL (web address). Try to refrain from lashing back at a poorly behaving member or participating in a verbal post battle; instead, notify the message board’s staff of the event.
